Chloe Holstad's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Chloe has not been feeling well since the end of October. We thought she was sick with the flu and maybe dealing with the stress of recently losing her grandmother but unfortunately on January 2nd Chloe was diagnosed with Leukemia and was admitted to Kaiser hospital.  Chloe has been going through a series of test and it was confirmed on Friday, Jan. 5th that she would have to start chemotherapy right away. First dose of chemo happened on Friday, Jan. 5th at 10pm. This has been incredibly shocking to her family and Chloe's close friends. Doctors have said that the type of Leukemia Chloe has is the most common and is treatable, but the chemo treatments will have grueling side effects and Chloe will lose all her hair. This amazing young lady has decided to cut her beautiful hair and donate it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, https://pantene.com/en-us/brandexperience/prepare-your-hair.  The chemo treatments can last from 9 months up to 2 years depending on how Chloe's system reacts. The 2nd round of aggressive chemo will be given on Monday, Jan. 8th.  Chloe will not be able to finish her last semester at Mira Mesa High she will have to be homeschooled, we hope and pray she will be strong enough to at least walk with her class.  Chloe also had a potential softball scholarship (details of the scholarship would be finalized in January) opportunity with Bethany College in Kansas that she would have to put on hold. Chloe has decided she no longer wants to be away from her family even when she recovers. This has hit the family hard, any help from the Mira Mesa community would help with Chloe's medical expenses as her mom Kathy leaves her job to care for Chloe during her chemo treatments. There has been an interest in giving the family gift cards or dropping off dinners, this would help so much during this difficult time.  Tony owns his own business and will have to continue working.  Kathy’s brother JC Thomas will handle the GoFundMe donations.
