Chloe and Evan to World Scout Jamboree 2023

Donation protected
In July 2023, Chloe and Evan will be departing on the adventure of a lifetime on the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea. Them, along with over 50,000 other scouts from all over the world will be heading on a 16-day trip to SaeManGeum to take part in many confidence building, growth inspiring activities.
It’s no small thing for two Bungendore kids to travel halfway around the world to an event with thousands of other scouts from across the globe. This will be a horizon broadening experience but it will be a challenge to make it there. It is a big trip with a big financial cost. This means that your help is needed for them to travel, meet new people and become more culturally educated.

SCOUT (AGE 11-14)
Hi, my name is Evan, I’m 13 and I’ve been in Scouts for 8 years. I started in Joey Scouts in 2014, became hooked, and have been attending Scouts weekly ever since. I spent 3 years at Joeys partaking in activities that built my confidence to try new things and learn important skills for life. When I was 8, I moved up to Cubs where I spent another 3 years learning all the skills like tying knots, going camping and cooking camp food. After completing Cubs, I moved up to the Scout section. I am in Scouts now and have been for the last 2 and a half years learning to put these skills into practise going on overnight hikes and building chariots from ropes and spars. I’m enjoying Scouts because of the added freedoms and responsibilities that come with growing older. I look forward to Scouts every week, because of the escape from the stresses of school, into the world of Scouts with different friends and one happy family of people ready to welcome me. I’m full of excitement to go to South Korea next year and extend my Scouting family.

VENTURER (14-18)
Hi my name is Chloe. I have been in Scouts since I was a cub. On my first night I came into an end of term party. I had so much fun so I went back every week. I am now a Venturer and have been a Scout for 6 years. I choose to stay because of the kind-hearted leaders and friendly scouts. Every night holds something different, whether we are rock climbing, helping out the community or just chatting with each other. Scouts also provides challenging experiences in the badge work we can do. I think that the best badge is the special interest badge, where you can pick any topic you want. Some of the topics I've chosen have been working on a STEM project and starting to teach someone a new language. I enjoy being in Scouts, it is a lifelong journey, and I can't wait to meet many others in South Korea next year..
