Chester is the Bruno family's dachshund and he is 5 years old. On the morning of Monday July 13th, 2020 he woke up with his back legs paralyzed, which we later found out was caused by a slipped disc. He had emergency surgery on his spine and now has a 50% chance of regaining feeling in his hind legs.
The cost of the surgery was $8,000 so our family is left with some hefty medical bills. Anything we can do to offset some of that cost will certainly help us out!
We plan to give Chester physical therapy / rehabilitation so that if he does regain feeling we maximize his quality of life. He still has many years left with us and our hope is that he is able to walk again on his own... maybe even run :)
