Chima’s Top Surgery Fund

Hi! My name is Chima. I am a 3D sculptor/animator. I have known since about 12 years old that I didn’t have the same connection with the binary as my peers did. The girls around me were excited to begin puberty, I on the other hand began to disassociate and become frustrated and aware of the fact that I didn’t feel right in my body. I would double, sometimes triple up with my sports bras in order to achieve a flat chest. At the age of 18 is when I first heard of Top Surgery and what it could achieve for someone like me. Unfortunately, surgery was unattainable for me then, I did not have the support that I have now. As I got well into my 20s, I began to explore the possibility that I could be trans. Therapy has helped with that exploration immensely, and I have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria, identifying as an non-binary trans masculine individual for the past 5 years. Recently I have moved onto the medical aspects of my transition.

In December of 2021, my fiancé caught Corona virus, which put us back financially. Aside from COVID stifling my ability to save efficiently, just as many other people have experienced, our monthly rent was raised in January as well. Due to these events, saving has been tough, On top of the $200 a month I pay for HRT. Nonetheless, I am grateful, after an annoying battle with my insurance company, I will be getting Top Surgery on May 10, 2022. As The day approaches, I’ve realized that I will be short $2,000. Anything is appreciated, you’ll be helping me out in ways you can’t even comprehend and I love you for that.
