Greetings from Uganda!! My name is Hellen Bahire Anyango, but my children call me Auntie Hellen. I am a mother and female entrepeneur living just outside of Kampala, capital city of Uganda. For over a decade now I have worked various odd jobs to provide for the school fees of the children in my community who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. After years of struggling to make ends meet, I have finally discovered a way of generating funds and educating the youth...POULTRY FARMING!
In Uganda, chicken eggs are a delicious and profitable item in the villages outside town, and for over a year now my Children's Chicken Farm has provided funds to send children to school. the farm also provides good work experience for those finished school or still waiting to attend classes.
My future plan would be to expand the Children's Chicken Farm to employ more people and reduce youth unemployment in my community and to eventually build a youth business school. At this school, students will become better educated, and learn poultry raising skills which would help young people to be creative and innovative. The skills that youth learn from my school would spread to their parents and other siblings and the circle continues for generations to come.
I really have the commitment and zeal to expand my farm and to one day build a school but I lack funds to expand my basic operations. I humbly ask for your help in reaching my dream. Ugandan money is very cheap, that is why my next plan to raise 1,000 new chickens and hire a dozen youth. It will only cost $5000 USD . Please contribute generously and thank you!
