Every year, an estimated 300,000+ new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide. This number is most likely under-reported due to many cases that go un-diagnosed and a lack of comprehensive childhood cancer registries.

For more than five decades, the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute at Children's Hospital Los Angeles has been saving children’s lives and working to increase cure rates through innovative clinical care, research programs, academic excellence and global leadership. It is the largest pediatric hematology-oncology program of its kind in the western U.S.

The Institute is the top pediatric hematology-oncology program in California and No. 10 in the nation. The Center has been continuously ranked in the top ten every year since the rankings were launched in 2009.
