Child Life Trip to South Africa

Hi friends!! I am so excited to let everyone know that I have been led to an amazing opportunity through an organization called Connect 123. This July, I will be traveling to Cape Town, South Africa to complete a child life practicum at a local children’s hospital. I will be studying under the direct supervision of a certified child life specialist to gain a better understanding of the child life field and prepare me for a child life internship in the spring of 2019. This four week trip will allow me to gain experience that I will value and cherish forever.
During the four weeks, I will be working in the children’s hospital and a local orphanage with children who need some extra love. I will be able to increase my knowledge of basic child life skills related to play, developmental assessment, and integration of child life theory. I am so excited to have more hands on experience to help me complete my masters degree.
In preparation for my trip, I would be extremely grateful for your thoughts and prayers in regards to safe travels and a feeling of preparedness during this experience. More importantly, I need prayers for the children and families I will be working with through the difficult times and obstacles that they are facing.
If you would like to support this trip financially, all donations will be going directly towards the program, housing, and necessary supplies for the children and families at Red Cross Memorial Children’s Hospital. I am so blessed that God has chosen me to help these children and families and I will forever appreciate any level of support you are able to offer. I love you all!!
