My name is Victoria Burgess from south Florida.
I am raising money to help fund my crossing of the Florida straights attempt. The procceds will go to the Woman's Sports Foundation! I will be the first female to cross on a SUP from Cuba to Key West, Florida, 100-110 miles. This is also a Guinness book of world records attempt.
I am doing this to raise awareness of women athletes and equality in sport. To show all the young girl athletes that you can do ANYTHING if you believe in yourself!
The funds will be used for: the safety/support boat, permits and licenses to launch from Cuba, crew and safety/gear needed for the crossing.
All proceeds after expenses and crossing is complete, will be donated to the Women’s Sports Foundation, who for the last 40 years has provided women athletes to advance in their talents who might not have had the opportunity otherwise.
