Funeral Arrangements for Steve Ford

On Christmas Eve, Steven Reid Ford suddenly passed away near New Orleans. His mother, Sandra is, of course, grieving this loss.  She is currently living in Beaufort, NC with her other son.  She is on a fixed income (social security).  She has no savings, nor does she own any transportation.  She is seeking help to get to Louisiana and have a funeral for her son.  Steve had no savings or property that would alllow him to have a "proper" funeral.  He had just celebrated the birth of his grandchild.  

Sandra is totally distraught and, like most of us, needs this closure for spiritual and physical healing.  Those of you who know me, know I never ask for anything unless its serious.  Of course, if I could write her a check for the whole thing, I would.  The funds would be used to provide her transportation to and from Lousiana from North Carolina as well as burial expenses.  As you know, funerals can be extremely expensive, but we aren't looking for something lavish.  A very simple, plain funeral is all that she is seeking.  One could not really put a price on being able to see your son one last time.  I love Sandra very, very much and hope that you can help in anyway.
