Chestbound Post Production Finishing Funds

Hello!

My name is Janine Anne Uyanga and I am the writer/director of Chestbound.

This short film follows a Black trans masculine person post top surgery. As they heal in the comfort of their found family, news of their father's stroke leads to an unexpected reunion with their estranged mother.

Chestbound's tone is intimate in its approach to capture genuine, tender moments of gender-affirming care and honest when exploring the nuances of familial relationships.

One thing that makes this film stand out is that it's not just about being trans. To its core, Chestbound is a human story that transcends all barriers. It's funny and warm, yet harrowing and thought provoking.

After completing principal photography in late February, our team is in need of finishing funds to help us move into post production and meet our summer deadlines.

We are asking for $5,000.

-$2,500 for film processing and scanning

-$1,000 for sound design

-$1,000 for color grade

-$500 for film festival fees
