5/30/2021 UPDATE: Something wonderful happened in May! Two deserving high school graduates and one deserving Eastside 5th grade student were awarded the first annual "Cheryl Turk-Barrus" scholarships. The scholarships are a truly fitting way to memorialize our dear teacher and friend. We know it's exactly what she would want.
Our team is overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who has contributed both here and directly to Eastside Elementary School. We are ending our GoFundMe campaign on July 1, 2021, but the scholarship fund will continue.
If you are interested in contributing to the scholarship after July 1, 2021, you may send a check to: Eastside Elementary School, 801 17th St., Cody, WY 82414 with "Cheryl Turk-Barrus Scholarship" written in the memo portion.

In reflection of Mrs. Cheryl Turk-Barrus' powerful years of selfless teaching and advocating for children's overall wellness and academic success, a scholarship fund is being established for graduating seniors who were former Eastside students. The goal is to collect at least $5,000 in donations to sustain 35 years of future scholarships to honor Mrs. Barrus' 35 years of teaching at Eastside Elementary School.
Mrs. Barrus was known throughout the Cody community for her passion, generosity, and relationships. Anyone that crossed paths with Mrs. Barrus has been impacted by her true excitement for life and learning. Mrs. Barrus inspired several generation of Cody, Wyoming, residents and thousands of lives have been touched in a positive way.
By contributing to this scholarship fund you will help carry on her legacy and help memorialize Mrs. Cheryl Turk-Barrus' giving spirit.
