Cherry's Bucket List

As you may know, Cherry has been through a lot - She is a 3 time breast cancer survivor having endured multiple surgeries, rounds of chemo and radiation over the years. Unfortunately cancer wasn’t through with her.  3 years ago, Cherry got the sickening news that she again had cancer. She was diagnosed with a glioblastoma  (brain tumor) and after having surgery in Montana, made the difficult decision to move back to Kansas to be near family.  A second surgery was performed at KU Medical Center and she underwent more chemo.  She had been doing very well and had even been able to maintain a part-time job at a local Panera Bread.  Recently another tumor from this very aggressive cancer was discovered on the other side of her brain.  Due to the location of the tumor, surgery is not a good option.  Cherry  is undergoing both oral and IV chemotherapy to slow the progression, but it appears there will be no cure. 

Cherry has always been an animal lover and has always wanted to visit Alaska to see the natural wildlife in person. As a single mom, she never had the opportunity, but it has remained at the top of her bucket list.  Among the things Cherry hopes to see will be the mountains she loves and the many different animals. She is truly hoping to see her favorite, the moose.  Please help us send her on this trip to allow her to fulfill this dream while she still can. 

The plan is to try to get her there the first week of November 2018. The target donation amount will cover round trip airline tickets, lodging, activities, food, rental car and other expenses. As Cherry is unable to travel alone, her 2 sisters will accompany her on the trip to ensure her safety and provide care.  We appreciate everyone's support in making this dream come true.
