Just two weeks ago, our dearest friend Chelse discovered she had a tumor growing in her abdomen. After many tests, the doctors agreed that in all likelihood the tumor was benign and could easily be removed laparoscopically. In true Chelse fashion, she took the diagnosis in stride and showed tremendous grace - and even humor, nicknaming her tumor “Terry” - in the face of such weighted news. Unfortunately, when Chelse’s doctors operated to remove “Terry” on June 13th, they also found ovarian cancer. As a result, the prognosis changed and we are faced with a new and much more daunting challenge.
There are, however, ways we can help ease the burden currently weighing on Chelse’s shoulders.
First, as we all know, no matter how excellent one’s insurance, out-of-pocket costs frequently arise and quickly accumulate during this kind of medical journey. Because of this, I am asking for your financial support on Chelse’s behalf. As a teacher, Chelse has touched the lives of countless children and their families, but she does not receive the monetary compensation or quality of insurance she deserves. If you are able to do so, please consider making a financial contribution to support Chelse’s treatments and recovery. I would also greatly appreciate it if you would share this page with people who might be interested in donating.

I do not know - nor will I ever know - a kinder, more thoughtful, more generous person on this earth. And while I can’t take away Chelse’s pain, fear, and sadness, I can do everything in my power to diminish those awful feelings. Please consider helping me do so.
