Chelsea's Gender Affirming Top Surgery

At the end of May, Chelsea (she/they) will be undergoing an exciting and gender-affirming procedure known as top surgery! If you know Chelsea, you know it’s been a long time coming. She is thrilled and privileged to finally be able to take this step towards feeling at home in her body joyfully and completely.

It’s a relatively straightforward operation but it brings with it a lot of uncertainty, downtime, recovery and physical and emotional stress.

We are turning to the enormous community of people who love and have been loved by Chelsea, to ask for a financial indication of your own love and support for her as she takes this step.

Chelsea will need to be not working and in recovery for 4-6 weeks, which means a lot of rest, little to no making money, and not much getting things done.

These financial gifts will go towards the medical services and aftercare not covered by insurance, essentials like food, but also towards support with healing and being able to really rest while she recovers. It’s a big deal physically and emotionally, but also financially to have top surgery.

If you know Chelsea you will know that asking for help of any kind is a really big thing for her. It’s scary and vulnerable but we know that community support is here for her and is vital to getting through this important surgery and recovery. Hey everyone! Some of you may know this and some may be hearing this for the first time.. I’m getting top surgery (!!!) so that I can finally look on the outside how I feel on the inside! Gender dysphoria has followed me my entire life and I’m grateful for the privilege to finally do something about it.
