Did you know that 22 veterans a day take their own lives? 

Skate for the 22 is a charity aimed at using hockey to raise veteran suicide awareness and prevention. The charity reaches its goals by creating programs that engage veterans through our awesome sport of hockey. 

Skate for the 22's mission is to get veterans on the ice and into the locker rooms by providing hockey, learn to skate, and skills development sessions at no cost to veterans. By providing these programs they get veterans back into a supportive team environment and hopefully reduce the tragically high number of daily veteran suicides. 

Beer League Talk, The Greatest Hockey Show In The World, wants to help this incredible organization reach their goal. Our vets sacrifice a hell of a lot so that we can live our lives as we want. Doing an event like CHEL-A-THON is our way to give back. 

So what is Chel-A-Thon?

For all you ol' timers out there, CHEL is the video game NHL by EA Sports. We are going to play the new release of NHL '19 for 48 hours straight. We are going to stream it live on Twitch.TV. This is a new age telethon. You will be able to hang out, watch us play, interact with us live via video & chat, watch live podcasts and much more during the 48 hours that this event is happening. We are hoping for lots of give aways to reward you for being a part of this exciting event. 

Our goal is to raise at least $1,000 for this awesome organization. Even if you can't afford to donate you can support our awesome vets by spreading the word and being a part of the CHEL-A-Thon. The first thing for you to do is follow our Twitch Stream at Twitch.TV/Beerleaguetalk . The 2nd thing you need to is share this. The last thing we ask you to do is doing something nice for a stranger today.
