To whom it may concern,
My name is Christian DeLuca and this campaign letter is to ask for help to make a dream of mine come true--the opportunity to attend a soccer camp instructed by one of Italy’s top professional clubs in my ancestor's homeland.
I’m a 14-year-old male that loves the game of soccer. I have been playing the game since I was a little boy. I’ve played on a number of teams including select teams. The “beautiful” game is not only a big part of my life but has been a big part of my family’s. Being raised in an Italian Canadian home and with the influence of my Italian grandfather, soccer has always been a subject of conversation and of passion around the Sunday dinner table. From my grandfather, to my dad, to my cousins; they all grew up playing this great game and I’ve been lucky enough to hear all their stories of glory. It’s amazing what satisfaction this sport can bring. Being able to attend the soccer camp in March of 2018 in Chievo Italy would be my ultimate story of glory.
Someday I dream to be a pro player. This opportunity to attend this camp could be a step in the right direction. And if the pros don’t work out, it will be a story and an experience I will carry forever. Something to tell my kids one day.
This past August, I attended a camp in Grimsby Ontario. We were privileged enough to be trained by two ex-professionals from Italy. It was an amazing experience to witness a professional’s skill up close. At the end of the camp, I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the players to be given the opportunity to attend the Chievo soccer camp in Verona Italy. I couldn’t believe it! The camp will run for 1 week in-which we will train with great Italian coaches and experience top level soccer along with the Italian culture. This is a great opportunity for me to grow and get exposure to the soccer scouts.
As you can imagine, this one week trip is going to be costly. I’ve worked hard over the past summer doing small jobs to raise some funds but it’s not nearly enough. This letter is to ask for your help from you or your company. I’m asking for any financial aid that you can give. Any financial aid I will receive will go towards my expenses such as flight, accommodations and the cost of the camp.
Thank you for your time and for taking the opportunity to read my letter. I hope to attend this soccer camp and experience all that I can to help me better myself as a soccer player and as a person. Maybe one day, you can say that you helped a local kid’s dream come true.
