Cheech and friends!

Donation protected
UPDATE: We met our goal after just one day! Cheech got the test he needed to help us make some tough decisions. But let's not stop there! Cheech needs help to make this week his best week ever. All leftover funds will go to help other dogs coming from Rainbow Friends and Muttville. Will close campaign on 9/9/18 (what would be our 1st Gotcha Day Anniversary). Follow us on ig @say.cheech

After my previous owner passed, I waited for over a year at a Hawaiian animal sanctuary before making the grand journey to San Francisco to find my new forever home. Handsome, cuddly, and athletic at only 9 years young, I won my mother’s heart quicker than you could say “aloha”. After a year of hikes and kayak trips all around the bay, adventures to Tahoe and Utah, nightly trips to the dog park with mom, trash parties galore, and even getting my CGC diploma, it seems forever may be ending sooner than we thought... (I’m supposed to be a therapy dog!)
The last few weeks have caught my whole family by surprise. I came to the vet after my ma thought I sprained my front leg. After a blood test and some X-rays, we found I had low platelets, a history of a broken elbow, and whole lot of nothing else. Then suddenly, over the course of just a few days, my back legs have become paralyzed. My vet detected a mass around my bladder that is potentially pressing on my spine. However, she can’t tell for sure - we need an ultrasound with a specialist. We’ve prepared for the worst by planning the Best Day Ever - a Tuesday filled with beach, park, sun, and all. But mom’s not quite ready to give up on me yet (how can she? I’ve still got a big appetite and front legs that keep on running).  We’re scheduled for an ultrasound on Wednesday, assuming I am still looking strong during my Best Day Ever, but Mom’s a student and her doggy fund is already in the red.
Please help me find answers so mom can make the right choice. Goal is set to $1,500 to cover cost of the ultrasound or to go towards palliative care. Anything we don’t use will be donated to Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary in Hilo, Hawaii and Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, California. If you can’t help, you can still follow our Best Day Ever adventures on Instagram! We need all the positive vibes we can get https://www.instagram.com/say.cheech/
