I am 39 years old with a beautiful wife, daughter and son. I was diagnosed with Stage 3b Squamous Cell Lung Cancer November 25th. I have a 8cm tumor on my right bronchial tube. I began chemotherapy and radiation on Dec. 7th.
I had been working on a natural gas pipeline in Fraser as a welder helper. I was in process of getting my welding inspector certification when I received the bad news. As soon as I beat this I will finish that certification! I believe it was because I was working at a high altitude in Fraser that caused me to have a harder time breathing which prompted my call to the doctors. This pipeline very well might have saved my life! Had I not been working up there I may not have gone to the doctor yet.
I found out on December 14th that my health coverage went into effect on December 1st! This was huge news as I was told coverage would not begin until January. Thank God!! I am still responsible for the tens of thousands it took to get diagnosed in November but that is a far cry from the Hundreds of Thousands we thought it was going to be to start treatment in December!!

I still have not been able to work due to all of the doctors appointments, tests, procedures and starting treatment. I dont know how people can continue to work while going thru this aggressive treatment. God bless them! I am doing okay but I am so tired and dont know how I will feel from one moment to the next. I am focusing on becoming well and kicking this inconvenience in the ass! Then I will be getting back to what I love to do. The financial concerns weigh heavily on my and my family's minds but thanks to all of the support from my friends and family that has been alleviated tremendously!!
