We met our fundraising goal, the new ledges are now installed!
This is our second successful fundraiser for the park in only a months time, thank you so much to everyone who helped out!
Time for the second Chatham Skatepark Upgrade project!
This is a fundraiser to install (2) "beginner" sized steel ledges on the flat area of the park near the sidewalk. The ledges will be only 6" and 8" tall, 8 feet long and 10" wide. This makes them perfect for all riders, especially giving beginners an area to learn away from the busier main area.
Funding?
I'm happy to announce that the first (flat rail) project had a surplus of money to carry over to this one!
We raised a total of $700. It actually came in cheaper than I estimated.
The first project cost only $590 total, leaving $110 for this new one.
Steel Ledges Cost
$690 for two ledges including material and welding
$20 for gofundme fees
$0 paint (have some leftover from rails)
$0 installation materials/labour (donated)
TOTAL COST $710 - $110 = $600 needed
Let's see how fast we can meet the goal and the new ledges will be installed within the next two weeks!
The first fundraiser to install (2) brand new flat rails at the Chatham Skatepark was a complete success, raising the money in only 48 hours. The rails were installed the next week with rave reviews.
This new project focuses on adding something for beginner level riders and makes use of the large wide open area at the entrance of the park.
