The Chase and Steph Holmes Battle Fund

Donation protected

On March 8th at 5pm, while at dinner with his beautiful wife, Chase recognized a lump on the left side of his neck. After running some tests at UF Shands in Jacksonville, the radiologist brought the news that it looked like lymphoma. The following week was filled with blood work, biopsies, punctures, pokes, prods, and all sorts of other discomforts doctors inflict on patients to come up with a proper diagnosis. On March 16, 2013, Chase was formally diagnosed with T-cell lymphoblastic acute lymphoma/leukemia (ALL). He began his treatment immediately and was quoted as saying "This is only one little road bump in our life. We are going to take on this cancer with all of our power and we are going to BEAT IT!"

A lot has gone on since that initial diagnosis. Chase has gone through multiple rounds of chemo, some radiation was thrown in for good measure, and he is getting prepped for a bone marrow transplant (they found a match!). Chase and Stephanie have made their way down to Tampa to continue his treatment at the nationally-recognized Moffitt Cancer Center. Stephanie (who appears to be working towards sainthood) has diligently served Chase in his time of need, while continuing to work in Jacksonville as a child psychologist. She spends long weekends with Chase in Tampa and returns to Jacksonville during the week to fulfill her work obligations.

While we firmly believe Chase is in good hands (both God's and the best oncologists in the world), this Battle continues to be a marathon and not a sprint. Our hope is that this page relieves some of the financial burden for his family in Oklahoma and Pennsylvania, and it will help fund medical expenses, hotels, meals, commuting, travel, and other necessities for them to be with Chase when he needs them most.

God bless you all, but Chase the most! For more details, follow Chase's updates on the CaringBridge website. For other questions, please call me. I am the skinny guy in the black tuxedo. Thanks everyone!
