Help your Cook-Wissahickon Public School choir champions get to the competitions!
Our talent development programs enhance our teachers' lesson plans, and the academic benefits can now be quantified. The highest PSSA grades last year came from the fourth grade, the only class to learn keyboarding. These programs contribute to increased school enrollment, improved student climate, and strong attendance as well as an increase in our 8th graders being accepted to special admissions high schools.
Choir families generously contribute $150 each in dues, which partially cover transportation required for events, and since Mr. D won't allow dues to become a barrier against a child's choir participation, he frequently pays from his own pocket for several students to join or remain in choir. Mr. D views music participation not as an outlet for a select few, but rather as a school-wide norm. We have all been witness to Mr. D's boundless energy, enthusiasm and dedication in bringing quality music programs to our kids.
The transportation fees may soon become C-W's only barrier to participation. Our choir needs our help. The GoFundMe goal would cover the charter buses necessary for our kids to participate in the state competitions. Would you please help our kids reach this end-of-year goal towards which they work hard and eagerly anticipate?
