Dear Friends of Charlotte Harris,
Char's house was devastated during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. When the Barker reservoir overflowed, her neighborhood was hit hard with several feet of water. She and her beloved dog Tucker were safely evacuated, but as you can see in the attached video, the inside of her home was completely destroyed.
Char lives in an area of Katy that has never previously flooded and she, like so many of her neighbors, did not have flood insurance.
Many of you are aware that Char is a life-long and dedicated volunteer, always quick to donate her time and resources to serve her community. Now it is our turn to help her.
It is difficult to estimate the cost to restore her home, but it will certainly be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
