On this day September 26, 2023 at 6:45am, Charlize Ounaphom made her final departure from us after a short but precious 12 years. The sudden and unexpected loss of Charlie has left her parents, grandparents, 4 siblings, aunts and uncles, and friends completely and utterly heartbroken. Please help us to raise money to pay for her final farewell during this very painful time. All donations will go to her mother and father Dannielle Nguyen and Michael Ounaphom.

Note from Chris Nguyen(Charlie’s uncle) This past Tuesday, my sister lost her daughter, Charlie. She was a very quirky, beautiful, and sweet girl. She added so much joy to this family. I loved this girl so much and so intentionally and now she's gone. I miss you, Charlie.

I was given permission by my sister to share the story of our girl fighting, and I want you all know how loved she was by everyone.

On Friday night, my sister drove her to the ER for a severe allergic reaction, and moments after entering the ER, Charlie collapsed and stopped breathing. The doctors attempted CPR for 2 hours before the doctors told my sister they would have to stop in 10 minutes. My sister screamed out loud, pleading for the doctors to continue. Moments later, they got a heartbeat from her, and my sister cried in relief. However, so much damage was done to her body while she was lifeless for 2 hours, so they sent her to ICU for life support.

We all waited for a miracle to happen. We all showed up, family and friends, and filled up the lobby area waiting and praying for Charlie to pull through. It was about 50+ people all supporting each other. Prayers were held, food was pouring in, and friends were called to pull strings. It was so many people supporting her, that even one random stranger said, "Wow, this girl must've done something special for this many people to show up." I was thinking in my head that she was very loved no matter what she had done. We loved Charlie unconditionally.

We were given a poor outcome of Charlie's condition, and at the same time, we were told they would do everything they could to stabilize her. Charlie showed slight improvements, and we all waited together for a miracle. Asking God to bring Charlie back.

By the second day, all 50+ people showed up to continue the support for Charlie. However, her organs were failing and they needed to do dialysis for her to continue fighting. Family and friends held in closer for a miracle. We all waited 12 hours for any results but no new updates were given. We all went home praying for God to bring Charlie back home and give her another chance to be with us. That same night, we were told her body was responding well to the dialysis and were hopeful that it would work out.

On Tuesday morning, Charlie's body could not receive dialysis anymore, her organs had completely failed, and my sister and Charlie's father had to make the worst decision in their lives, which no parent should ever go through. After all the fighting, praying, and pleading, Their little baby girl passed away.

We all came up to say our goodbyes. The worst experience one can go through. To see my 12 year old niece lying there, and not smiling back. I love you, Charlie...I loved you so very much.

If you all could, please donate to my sister whatever you can. It has been so devastating for my little sister to mourn her baby girl at such a young age. Thank you all for the taking time to read this. Please pray for my family that we can make it through this together, for whatever it is that God has laid out for us. Help us see the light in this.
