Charlie Brown’s Entropion Surgery & Dental

Thanks to everyone that made Charlie Brown’s surgery possible!! I’m sooo sorry for the delay in updating, unfortunately, I have been sick. However, you all deserve an update!! I’m SOOO happy to say that Charlie Brown’s surgeries were a success! Thanks to the amazing people out there, he was able to get BOTH his eyelid AND dental surgery a few days ago on the 10th! The vet recommended doing both surgeries on the same day since his medical history is unknown and putting kitties twice under anesthesia without that info can be risky. He had plenty of pain medication during the week & a half he had to wait for surgery, so he was being a trooper! Charlie Brown has been doing 1000% better since his surgery and no longer cries all night. He seems to be a very friendly kitty and now that he is doing so well and we can assess his socialization better, I am happy to say that he will be adoptable after he is healed! A Siamese rescue in San Diego will give him a nice foster home around the 20th and he will be placed for adoption. Thank you to everyone so much again for making this possible. This little kitty went from homeless and sick to getting the chance at finding his forever home in just a matter of weeks! ❤️ Many people said that it wouldn’t be possible to put him up for adoption since he is an older kitty found on the street and because we didn’t know his socialization status. Others were saying that paying so much for a surgery for a kitty that may be un-adoptable is a waste ☹️ But, thanks to you, Charlie Brown is a lucky kitty, and really a testament to the love and care people in this world have for each other and animals. My name is Sonia and I’ve been a kitty foster for about 9 years now. A friend that traps and releases kitties in Anaheim, CA needs help paying for a surgery for a little two-year old Flame-point Siamese kitty named Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown was found on the streets of Anaheim a week and a half ago. My friend trapped him, got him fixed, and was concerned because his eyes were swollen, goopy, and extremely infected. She took him to a veterinarian and was told he has entropion, which is a very painful disease caused by the “abnormal and inward rolling of the upper and lower eyelids” (Pet MD), which causes friction and irritation. I’m not familiar with this disease, but my friend says that this disease is so painful for poor little Charlie Brown, and that all he does is lay on the floor and cry all day.

We’ve reached out to all of the kitty nonprofit organizations in our area to help Charlie Brown, and because of the high volume of kitties in the system as of now, we were able to receive a discount allocated for the surgery, which is amazingly appreciated!

There are so many wonderfully caring kitty organizations and independent people out there that know the kitty crisis has been bad this whole year. We can save one kitty at a time, starting with Charlie Brown, and give him a wonderful life he would not otherwise have. Once he’s fixed up, he may be a wonderful barn-cat or even pet for a family, depending on how well he takes to people! He does not seem like the typical feral cat because he lets you pet him. After surgery- who knows!

This poor baby can get surgery on January 3rd, but we need help! The eyelid surgery, including discount, from the low-cost vet is $1089.91. He also needs help with dental, which is between $400-$500, but of course his pain from his entropion disease is the most crucial to take care of right now. I will post an updated estimate from the vet including dental when we get it in!
