CRY OUT FOR HELP
Donation protected
My name is Rachel. I am married to Charles Tamale and we have two children a boy and a girl.
On May 1st, Charles ended up in the ER because he was nauseated, vomiting and having confusion. A CAT scan was done that showed that he had a 6 by 6 inch tumor which required immediate surgery. He was transfered from Skyridge to Swedish medical as they were well versed with tumor removals. On May 3rd a 12 hr surgery was done and 95 % tumor was removed.
A few days later Charles was beginning to recover with an exception of left sided weakness from both his left arm and left leg and with this great progress, his medical team at Swedish advised that he should be transferred to an intense Rehab hospital to continue his therapy so he could acquire movement in both extremities hence moving him from Neuro ICU to 7th floor as he awaited placement into a Rehab hospital.
While on 7th floor, during one of his therapeutic sessions of sitting up in chair, he was left un attended and he tried getting up on his own to use the bathroom which unfortunately led to him falling then hitting his head. This fall later caused an infection to his bone flap that was healing which was a major setback and also required for him to have another surgery. So, after numerous MRI’s and CT scans a second surgery was done to remove the infected bone flap replacing it with a titanium plate on may 27th.
Charles was the sole bread winner for our family and due to this un expected circustance we are faced with major financial constraints and are now living in a motel with my kids while Charles is recuperating in hospital. I have applied for jobs but have not been able to find one. In the meantime, I am driving Uber while I balance our children’s needs as well as visiting my husband in hospital. Doctors say it might take up to a year before Charles makes a full recovery. The plan is for him to go for Rehab and then home.
I am reaching out to our family, friends and well wishers to help in any way you can as no ammount is too small.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this “cry out” And may God bless each and every one of you.
Sincerely,
Rachel Tamale
