Charles Schifone Funeral & Family Expenses

On December 31, 2020 Charles Lodge-Schifone, who went by Charlie, passed away truly unexpectedly.   Katie Schifone, his wife, awakened in the morning to find her husband, who was only one month from his 40th birthday, had passed away some time during the night.   Unable to wake him, she called 911 and  Charlie's Mother, Lisa, who lives nearby.  Lisa arrived as quickly as she could.  While Katie and Lisa did their best it became obvious that nothing could be done.  The EMTs arrived to the home and confirmed that Charlie was no longer with us.  

We Need Help
My name is Nikki Bassette and  Katie is my big sister.  She called me that morning and could barely get the words out of what had happened.  I did what any sister in that situation would do; I dropped everything, got in my car and drove straight to her.  Over the next few days, I witnessed the outpouring support from all who knew Charlie and my sister.  Everyone was in shock.  He was so young and had so many incredible future plans for his family.  Everyone who reached out asked, "What can I do?," and "How can I help?".   Although we could not answer those questions in the first few days as we started to make funeral plans, it became clear to me how we could all support Katie and Lisa in a meaningful way.  Which is why I have created this Go Fund Me.  

The Costs:
Charlie and Katie had not anticipated his passing.  They were still newlyweds and had not made these difficult end of life plans since they were just at the begging of their life together.   The support and relief that we, as a community, can bring to Charlie's family is significant. For anyone who has planned a funeral, you know how overwhelming the costs can be.  All donations will be received by Katie directly.

How you can help:
Donations made to this fundraiser will be put towards paying for the funeral services being held at Farley Funeral Home as well as his burial.   A modest amount of the donations will also go towards a food train for Katie to ensure she does not have to worry about cooking on the day to day.
