I am 22 year-old raising money for a wheelchair. I am diagnosed with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (which comes under the EDS umbrella). It is a connective tissue disorder which causes my joints to dislocate regularly among other things. I also have issues with my heart-rate, digestive symptom, urinary system, fatigue, etc.
I am currently hoping for a manual wheelchair as a matter of urgency allowing me to get out more and aid in my university studies.
In the future I will be requiring a more customised power-chair (as I can not propel myself) so any money I recieve which doesn't go on the manual chair will go on that along with splins and other mobility aids I am in need of.
This diagnosis has been one that is very difficult to accept especially as it's degenerative. My quality of life is currently very low which is very tough as a young student with a thrive for life. A wheelchair would 100% improve that.
