Channa to recover in 2020 after open heart surgery

New Goal for 2020 help us keep the support going. We have also made sure the current fire situations in Australia have been supported also. We need to unite and find the unconditional love for one another, sometimes difficult situations and trauma brings people together and helps unite. We can see the importance of simple things, sharing and caring for one another in times of need.

Channa’s major Open Heart Surgery has been a shock to the whole community around him. We are raising money for our dear friend, teacher, carer, and partner. Channa is an enduring nurturer, an incredibly gifted, kind, compassionate and generous community leader, who now needs some love and support from yourself and others.

Channa spent the past three years working overseas, teaching retreats and working with organisations, in order to develop and support the spirituality and ecology of the world. He personally led a campaign to raise over $500,000 to build atruly amazing community centre for the community in Melbourne, Australia, with much of the funds coming from Channa and his volunteer working team. We all want the awakening and healing to continue, and for the centre to reach its full potential.

Fortunately, we have a wonderful community of people that support whenever they can, realising that Channa cannot do it alone. If those who love and respect him dearly can find a way to continue this support, particularly at this critical time, this is incredible and generous.

Health Update

 

On Thursday 19th of December 2019 Channa was rushed into emergency open heart surgery. He needed five bypasses with 99 per cent of his arteries blocked.

Channa will continue to spend Xmas now recovering from being in intensive care. As all going well and he is getting the rest he needs, he will leave intensive care and remain in hospital while he fully rehabilitates up until he is capable of going home.

Over time, and with rest and care, Channa’s healthy will greatly improve, and he will eventually continue to share his teachings at his unique and amazing centre.

It is now evident that Channa has been living with a major underlying health issue, and the unavoidable stress and pressure of finishing the beloved Healing Centre in Northcote has taken a heavy toll.

Channa’s major Open Heart Surgery has been a shock to the whole community around him. It is now evident that Channa was too caring to ask for real support he needed. Over many months he has been planning to fully launch the centre in 2020, following the soft opening in October 2019.The plan was to gently come back to teaching naturally, with the support of others in the community. Unfortunately after traveling for so many years raising the funds, he was not able to rest and recover once back in Australia.

Our aim is to support Channa over the comingmonths to fully recover from his open heart surgery. To give Channa the respect, time-out and support he needs, to avoid the daily pressure ofhow he can support himself while he recovers.

 Many of you know that Channa has given his whole life to serve others, so please share and contribute what is possible. If Channa has also touched your heart and supported you, please share and allow a couple of dollars from friends and family over Xmas to support the fundraising.

Much of the support will cover larger interest payments for credit cards and continue payments for personal loans he owes. Living with such discomfort over the past month has already had a bad financial impact, not being able to fully pay rents. Banks and creditors have been calling non-stop and this was probably the breaking point for Channa’s underlying heart issue.

 This much needed support will go to the caring and recovery of Channa. He is always cooking and caring for others and now it’s time we all look after our dear friend and great teacher who has touched many hearts. When viewing the scans you could see how much energetically Channa was holding and removing from others, his arteries werecompletely filled and clogged.

 Over the past few months, Channa has beensupported by some caring and nurturing individuals. Thankfully due to the support of some much needed donations, Channa was able to continue his health cover throughout 2019-2020 for urgent medical needs. Many of you know that for over 20 years Channa has been dealing with the complexities of Diabetes-related illness, with his health being managed daily.

Channa has taken on a large personal payments to finish the community center, well over $500,000 spent personally. He has personally taken responsibility for all suppliers and due to many factors, coming back to open has caused majorstresses and concerns. Any amount that we can raise, any amount will really help, to cover some debt to ease the stress.
