Chanda's Surgery Fund

Donation protected
Hello, everyone! This is my dog Chanda and as you all know, she’s the light of my life. I got her upon my return from my Peace Corps service and she helped me through some challenging times as I transitioned back to life in the US. Chanda is a working breed and is used to being an active dog. Her favorite activities on earth include hiking, biking, swimming, running, ball, frisbee, agility, and trial obedience with me. Over the past few months, our lives have changed completely because of the amount of pain she is experiencing and it has been difficult to watch. She has a painful hip as a result of severe hip dysplasia. Eight months ago she could play ball for 45 minutes or more, but she is in so much pain these days she can barely play for 10 minutes. Walking is now the only form of activity she gets. One of the steps we will be taking to improve her quality of life is surgery, since she is so young. Surgery will help her give her a more pain-free life and will reduce her dependence on expensive medications and supplements that can take a toll on her liver over time. However, since I am a graduate student paying for such an expensive surgery is difficult. I do not make much money as a research assistant, but I will be doing what I can on my end to save for her as well. Her surgery is estimated to cost about $1000, so if you have a few dollars to spare please consider helping us out. It would mean the world to all of us.
