Chancy's Fund
Donation protected
Hi my name is Rick Griego and this is my therapy dog Chancy a three year old border Collie. As I'm typing this Chancy is in the veterinary hospital in Reno NV. He is in desperate need of surgery. He has a liver shunt.the liver shunt is usually caused by liver problems that resulted in the body routing blood through whatever blood vessels are available, even if it means bypassing the liver. As happens with congenital shunts, the liver can't filter what doesn't pass through it, so toxins build up in the body. Signs include stunted growth, not gaining weight, losing weight, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, unresponsiveness, temporary blindness, seisures, disorientation, excessive drinking, excessive urination. My story is that I had a brain bleed stroke 3 years ago. This left me disabled and I cannot work any longer. The stroke affected the right side of my body as well as my speech. I was at Northern Nevada Rehabilitation Center for over a month. When I got home I was in need of companionship and that's when Chancy came into my life. He gave me a second chance at life. He is my best friend (apart from my wife)
He lets me know when it's time to wake up, when it's time for us go on walks (and that look he gives me is priceless) and when it is time to go grocery shopping. In addition, therapy for me is painting. When this occurs, Chancy lays at my feet and inspires me on the next painting. To help me with the rest of this cost, I have created a Go Fund Me account. If you can support me with Go Fund Me by making donations and sharing this with your networks I would greatly appreciate it. I know money can be tight, so please know that every little bit helps to get me closer to my goal! Let me know if you have any questions, and I will be happy to answer them.
