Champions Never Lose!

Nino is a young, talented girl from my hometown in Georgia. As a young girl,  she was extremely active playing games with her childhood friends. She was very talented at football (soccer)and because of her generous nature she quickly became a role model for younger girls in her hometown. Nino had to fight through stereotypes and other circumstances (most importantly, not having a football club for girls in the town) to follow her dreams.  She managed to play soccer at a professional level throughout Europe with her club and national team of Azerbaijan (Georgia does not have a female national team).

Unfortunately, her family recently discovered that she has a very serious health problem, namely, osteosarcoma. Ironically and sadly, this tumor started in her hip and has now metastasized or spread to her lungs. She needs to be immediately sent to Turkey for surgery. In Georgia, which is in Eastern Europe, such surgery is not available. Nino needs approximately $20 000 to save her life.
