Outdoor play and learning has never been more important for our children...
Play is essential to the mental and physical well being of children wherever they are. During the period of lock-down many of our pupils had limited access to outdoor space and play. Our vision is to enrich children’s’ play opportunities and support their wellbeing and life opportunities.
Our lovely school is nestled in the Chiltern Hills, however a recent Department for Education survey found that our school's catchment is one of England’s very worst places for social mobility. Growing up poor here means that you have a high chance of being locked into generations of poverty and disadvantage.
Outdoor play and learning is an enriching way to change these statistics for our pupils. Outdoor play has a proven beneficial impact on engagement, learning, personal development, behaviour and academic achievement lifting our pupils out of disadvantage.
We are aiming to raise £20,000 to work with a sustainable natural playground company to provide our pupils with a beautiful play environment to maximise their natural creativity.
