Hello as many of you guys know I am Jimmy Higdon,  Chads father, and as I come to you today in disbelief  and a broken heart my son Chad is in ICU fighting for his life at Gadsden Regional Hospital.  Chad has been fighting depression very badly since the passing of his mother in 2017.  Well since then I have done everything in my power to help my son since life for him is much harder due to him having Cerebral Palsy ,but he always made the best of it.  Chads depression seemed to be getting better, I took him to a the therapist and had him treated and life for him after the passing of his mother slowly became easier. Moving to  on to November 2020 again we lost another huge influence in our family and especially to Chad.. Chads Grandfather. Chad could not wrap his head around how the two main people who he loved so very much could be taken from him.. Again he fail into a severe depression which was worse than ever. I took him to doctors, therapist but nothing, me and my oldest son tried daily helped.  Well this is when it all came to a head... A week before he went into the hospital everyday he was talking suicidal things..  Things I never thought I could, or would hear from my sweet Chad.  Tuesday December the 1st my son threw himself out of his hospital bed purposely, which I am still in shock over.  My oldest son and I rushed to his side and looked him over for injuries and he had a knot on his forehead and at that point I knew his depression was at a all time high.  While Vince my other son and I stayed by him the remaining of evening where chad was visibly fine ,back to himself watching his favorite shows and eating dinner with us everything seemed fine.  Moving on to Thursday December 3rd ,Everything seemed fine with him. I get up with him every morning we have our coffee and start our day, 12:30 pm , he wanted me to cut his hair which is a normal thing for us to do, and everything seemed normal with him. Vince and I get him cleaned up and back to his hospital bed after his hair cut and that where things took a turn for the worse sadly... I just cant wrap my heart around it,. what I'm about to tell you... Chads body temp became low, his feet and legs where like ice, I covered him in 5 blankets and put a heating pad on his legs and feet and stayed by his side. Next his breathing became labored then I knew it was time to call 911!!! What is happening to my son?! The ambulance showed up and by then he was not speaking! What is going on with my child God?  I followed the ambulance to the the hospital and since the covid rules has changed  I could not go in with him,so as I'm setting in the parking lot waiting on a call from the E.R. I get a call from home stating where a empty bottle of tylenol was found by his bed in his trash can it was a new bottle of 200 of which around only 10 was taken!!! I immediately tell the nurses! My son took the entire bottle!  Okay update.. MY son is currently waiting on a bed at Emery Hospital in Atalanta G.A for a liver transplant!!  Chad is not breathing on his own and we are awaiting on brain wave tests to come back to see if he has any brain activity.  Chad is 40 years young and its not his time to leave this earth so I humbly ask if you could find it in your heart to give any money at this time for the extra expenses for medical that Chads insurance wont cover and travel expenses once chad is moved to Emery Hospital to await a liver transplant . So as I close ,I beg my community for all the prayers Chad can get and humbly ask if you can find it in your hearts to give just a dollar that would help, please help my son Chadrick Higdon on this journey to recovery and home... Thank you so very much in advance and I want to say on behalf of Chad, Roll Tide Roll !!!He never missed a game..
