Help me evacuate to safety and rebuild my house

Dear compassionate hearts,

I am Bashar Mahmoud, and I am reaching out to you in the midst of an incredibly challenging crisis. Like every young Palestinian, I dedicated the better part of my adulthood tirelessly working to save enough money to fulfill my dream of owning a home. In 2023, I was fortunate enough to achieve that dream, painstakingly selecting beautiful designs and decorations to make it a warm haven just in time for my upcoming marriage in May 2023.

However, the happiness that surrounded my story took a heart-wrenching turn when the Gaza war erupted. My home, nestled in Tal-Elhawa in Gaza, became one of the many casualties in the first devastating days of the conflict. I was shattered to learn that my house, a symbol of my aspirations and future family, was obliterated.

In the aftermath, I found myself displaced, moving from one temporary shelter to another until I had no choice but to seek refuge in a tent on the streets—a fate shared by many Palestinians today. I am left with nothing, no home, and no sanctuary to rebuild my life.

My whole family including my mother, my four brothers and my sister now all lives in this tent. Even my little nephew Yousif had to suffer with us and live in this horrible situation. You can still see his smile below.

Yousif deserves to be safe and live happily like he used to be.

Even dogs had there share of suffering. My lovely dog Zatar has been living through this nightmare without proper dog food available or a safe place to play outside.

I am reaching out to compassionate souls like yours, seeking your support to evacuate my family to safety and rebuild my house. Your generosity will not only help reconstruct bricks and mortar but also rebuild the foundation of hope that has been cruelly demolished.
