POR MI FUTURO, MI SUEÑO ES ESTUDIAR

Mi nombre es Darly Dayana Camilo Montenegro, tengo 19 años, nací en la ciudad de Cali, Colombia, vivo en el barrio Terrón Colorado con mi madre y mis 4 hermanos menores. Soy bachiller graduada en el 2018 del colegio Isaías Gamboa - Cali, tengo dos títulos técnicos, en dibujo arquitectónico y competencias transversales.

Me apasiona el deporte, soy atleta corredora de 400 metros planos, me encanta estudiar y adquirir nuevos conocimientos; disfruto leer, tocar la guitarra, soy amante de la gastronomía y me gusta aprender sobre diferentes culturas.

He llegado lejos como deportista y he tenido el privilegio de viajar por Colombia para representar a mi departamento e igualmente a mi país como selección Colombia en un campeonato suramericano de atletismo celebrado en la ciudad de Cali el año pasado. Soy una atleta con disciplina, decisión, responsabilidad y dedicación; en cada entrenamiento y competencia dejo todo mi esfuerzo en la pista, éste trabajo duro me ha dejado bonitos recuerdos, experiencias memorables, amistades valiosas, reconocimiento, triunfos y algunas derrotas de las cuales algo aprendí. Sin embargo, lo único que no me ha quedado es un futuro claro para vislumbrar; a pesar de mi talento, no me ha sido posible obtener apoyo alguno por parte de los entes deportivos de mi país. En busca de un mejor futuro para mí y para ayudar a mi familia, me he propuesto la meta de estudiar una carrera profesional porque sé que la vida deportiva es corta y quiero seguir sirviendo a mi comunidad cuando logre un título.

Recientemente, la vida me ha presentado varias oportunidades que me permitiría continuar con mi pasión por el atletismo y al mismo tiempo me ayudaría a costear mis estudios. Se me otorgo media beca deportiva para estudiar en South Plains College, una institución universitaria en el estado de Texas - Estados Unidos; ahí fue cuando inicié esta campaña pero rápidamente me di cuenta que no lograría recaudar lo necesario para tomarla. Un par de semanas después gracias a mis méritos deportivos me hice acreedora de una beca completa en Central Methodist University en el estado de Missouri. Esta es una oportunidad que no puedo dejar pasar y estoy decidida a tomarla. 
Que sea una beca completa implica que todos mis gastos de matrícula, alimentación y vivienda serán cubiertos por la universidad mas los gastos de la documentación, visa, impuestos, vacunas y viáticos deben ser cubiertos por mi.

He invertido mis ahorros en este plan y mi familia me ha apoyado al máximo; también, he hecho rifas y ventas para recaudar más dinero pero escasamente he logrado costear la expedición de certificados de notas de mi colegio y vacunas que me exigen para viajar.

Al ser mi familia de escasos recursos, nos ha resultado imposible sustentar un hogar y al mismo tiempo invertir en un proyecto como éste.

My name is Darly Dayana Camilo Montenegro, I am 19 years old, I was born in the city of Cali, Colombia, I live in the Terrón Colorado neighborhood with my mother and my 4 younger brothers. I graduated in 2018 from Isaías Gamboa school high school in Cali, I have two technical degrees, in architectural drawing and transversal skills.

I am passionate about sports, I am a runner of 400 flat meters, I love to study and acquire new knowledge; I enjoy reading, playing the guitar, I am a gastronomy lover and I like to learn about different cultures.

I have come a long way as an athlete and have had the privilege of traveling through Colombia to represent my department and also my country at a South American athletics championship held in the city of Cali last year. I am an athlete with discipline, determination, responsibility and dedication; In each training and competition I put all my effort on the track, this hard work has left me with beautiful memories, memorable experiences, valuable friendships, recognition, triumphs and some defeats from which I learned something. However, the only thing I have not had is a clear future to glimpse; despite my talent, it has not been possible for me to obtain any support from sports entities in my country. In search of a better future for me and to help my family, I have set myself the goal of studying a professional career because I know that sports life is short and I want to continue serving my community when I achieve a degree.

Recently, life has presented me with several opportunities that would allow me to continue my passion for athletics and at the same time help me pay for my studies. I was awarded a half sports scholarship to study at South Plains College, a university institution in the state of Texas - United States; That's when I started this campaign but I quickly realized that I would not be able to raise the necessary funds to take it. A couple of weeks later, thanks to my sporting merits, I was awarded a full scholarship at Central Methodist University in the state of Missouri. This is an opportunity that I cannot pass up and I am determined to take it.
That it is a full scholarship implies that all my tuition, food and housing expenses will be covered by the university, plus documentation, visa, taxes, vaccinations and travel expenses must be covered by me.

I have invested my savings in this plan and my family has supported me to the fullest; Also, I have made raffles and sales to raise more money but I have barely managed to pay for the issuance of transcripts from my school and vaccinations that they require me to travel.

Being my family with limited resources, it has been impossible for us to support a home and at the same time invest in a project like this.
