Our family has worked hard over the past decade to build a stable, happy home. My husband and I both came from families with little means and worked very hard to buy a home, go to college and raise his (our) oldest daughter. Two years ago, all of that became threatened when we found ourselves in the midst of an expensive custody trial. Shortly after this began, we learned we were expecting our son. We did what we could to prepare and tried to trim our expenses. We hired a debt settlement agency to work with our creditors, we traded in our nice new car for a cheaper one and we cut back around the house. We also totalled our other car when we hit a deer...

When our son arrived, it was a compicated delivery, resulting in a six-day stay in the hospital due to pre-eclampsia. Very expensive, despite our insurance coverage! A few months later, the custody trial ended with our oldest daughter coming home. We are so happy to provide a stable home for her! Just a few short months later, we found ourselves expecting our youngest daughter. She was born in July and again, there were ongoing complications with delivery and recovery, resulting in a week-long hospital stay.

We are trying very hard to hold onto the good life we had built for our family, but find ourselves in far too much debt. We need  help to stay afloat!
