Help My Mom Stay In Her Apartment

Donation protected
This is very difficult for me to post, as I hate asking for help, but at this point I don’t know where else to turn.

My mom, Darlene Walen, is facing eviction from her apartment that she has lived in for over 25 years. It’s where she raised me, and where I hold so many fond memories. She was recently fired from her Job of 30+ years, and what little retirement money she got has been used to survive up to this point. The cash and food assistance from the state of WA is minimal, and social security takes months to come through.

How did she get herself in such a bad position? My mom has early onset dementia, and I didn’t know her situation was this dire until recently. I’ve used up all of my own resources trying to keep her afloat, and my own finances are tapped at this point.

I’ve spent hours calling at least 20 different agencies, charities, and churches, but nobody has any funds available. I’m at my wits end trying to keep her from being homeless. This is my last-ditch, embarrassing effort to find enough funds to keep her in her apartment until her Social Security comes through.

She was served with a 3 notice to pay rent or vacate, and she owes $1,540. I can cover some of it, but I can’t cover it all. If there’s anyone out there that can help, or knows of a good place that we can find help, I would appreciate it more than you know. Thank you all
