Corina's Rescue Team

Carina is an approximately 10 year old poodle mix from Schenectady that has suffered years of neglect and abuse. We don’t know her background, we only can look at these pictures and imagine the horror that she has endured. Carina was brought in to the emergency clinic for medical attention this week and it became clear that Carina was going to need a lot more than a few hours of medical treatment.  Carina is blind from untreated eye infections which are still present, her fur was severely matted, and other medical conditions are still unknown.   After examining Carina the clinic immediately got on the phone and called Rottie Empire Rescue (because of a relationship with the vet, obviously not because she is a Rottie) to see if there was room in our program for this sweet girl. RER called Companion Animal Placement Program (CAPP) and in a joint venture we are committed to saving this girl. We don’t know what all of her medical is going to involve but currently it involves an emergency room bill of $800. She will need further evaluation and vetting and her eyes are going to need special attention.  She is being fostered through CAPP and updates will be forthcoming.
