Cervical IVDD Surgery

Gia was just diagnosed with having cervical IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease) which affects around 19% of dachshunds. I am blessed to be in a position to give her the care that she needs and she deserves for being my best friend and family member for the last nine years.  I need help with the remainder of her hospital cost which include another MRI and a week long stay after her procedure. Gia has been with me since 2011 prior to having me make a major life change.  GiGi has witnessed me grow into an academic, a journey that is extremely diverse and comparable to doing an Iron Man every other day.  Gia saw me start at a community college in my late 30's, after which I completed Mount Holyoke College's Chemistry B.A. in May 2019 to where we are now, in a doctorate (PhD) program in Inorganic Chemistry at UMass Dartmouth.
Gia continues to be my driving source of strength to keep at it and pushing through the adversities of being a non-traditional student during this ground breaking time in our history.  Gia's 9 lbs are an illusion to anyone that has had the privilege of getting close to her and experiencing her love and strength, for to me she is my daughter for whom I strive to be a better person for.
Over the winter break, I would like to get her back surgery at Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston so that I can be blessed with having my one and only family member with me to say "we did it! We went out and got your dream PhD in inorganic battery systems."  More than anything, I need to see GiGi experience freedom from her back pain and joy at living the way a dachshund intuitively inspires. Gia, my Noodlepuss defines what it means to be authentic and loving.  I am so grateful for you Gigi. Let's keep at it.
