It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Diane Mari Alonso on April 5th, 2021. Diane was an amazing mother, wife, and friend. Diane passed away at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Plano, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. Diane was born in Broadwater Down, Tunbridge Wells in western Kent, England on the 11th of June 1946. Diane was an extremely talented and intelligent women who lived and worked in many places. Eventually, she would find her home in Dallas, Texas where she lived for the remaining 38 years.

As many of you are aware, Diane had two arduous battles with Lymphoma Cancer in 2011 and 2019. While this was extremely challenging for her, she found the strength to defeated cancer so that she spend more time with those she loved. During her journey, she found peace and comfort in La Milagrosa (The Miraculous One) and began to support the Capilla De La Milagrosa in Alberic, Spain.

We encourage you to visit Diane’s Memorial page to learn a little more about her, see additional photos, leave well wishes or a memory of how Diane touched your lives.

In memory of Diane and in lieu of flowers, we ask that you please consider contributing to the Chapel of the Miraculous. La Milagrosa (Alberic) dates back to 1660 and was originally called “Hospital de los pobres peregrinos” (Hospital of the Poor Pilgram). It’s dual purpose was to oversee the nursery school and to care for the abandoned elderly and sick.  Today, the Fundación Santo Hospital y Casa de Teñanza continues its work for the care of the elderly and education of minors and young people as well as collaborate with the Community of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul. They offer religious and pastoral service: celebrations, prayer, sacraments, spiritual care. Your donations will go directly Sisters of the Chapel of the Miraculous to help with the shortfall caused by limited grants.
