Celebrate Delaware County Pride

LGBTQIA+ people are and have always been here in Delaware County, NY. However, we have not always been visible or had the acceptance and support in the broader community. This impacts our health and safety and our ability to be our authentic selves in the world. Delaware County Pride is an organization made up of members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies in rural NY that seek to create a network of resources and support, build and strengthen community, and promote equity and inclusion. The safety of our community members is our highest priority.

 

Funds from this campaign will go directly to support the LGBTQIA+community in the following ways:

 

-Fund our regular social events for our community.

 

-Support our Coming Out Party/pride celebration on Sunday June 5, 2022 between 4-7pm at the Andes Hotel. Your funds will pay for all the things that will make this event FABULOUS: queer performers, supplies, decorations, party favors....(inclusive) rainbow everything!

 

-Help us pay for our website, which provides information about our support groups, outreach programs and events as well as resources like: lists of LGBTQIA+ friendly businesses and service providers and national organizations and campaigns that support our community.

 

-Help us create a PR/media campaign to garner the support of local businesses and make LGBTQIA+ members and allies more visible in the community. If you start seeing our logo in the windows of your favorite haunts- you can feel proud to know that you helped to make that happpen!

*Please note that while we are not yet a 501c3 non-profit organization, we are working towards gaining a fiscal sponsor that will allow us to offer a tax benefit for your donations. If a tax right off is important to you, you may wish to wait a few weeks until we can get a fiscal sponsor. Please reach out to the organizers if you have any questions about this.
