Help my Parents Recover from Harvey

Please help my parents' repair flood damage from Harvey.

My parents' home flooded due to Harvey. They live in Houston near Braes Bayou. They are elderly and the damage has turned their lives upside down. They have lived in this home for 54 years, and it has never come close to flooding, so like many others they did not carry flood insurance. The damage has been devastating physically (to their home) and financially.

We spent most of the week in the aftermath of Harvey ripping out damaged floors, walls and furniture. We did our best to clean the dirt and mold and dry out the place so they can rebuild.

Some very good friends came out, without being asked, and spent hours with us doing this diffiult work. We thank God for blessing us with such friends.

Floors and walls need to be repaired or replaced. Some furniture and clothing was also damaged beyond repair. We estimate the total cost to repair at $22,000, and they have $6,000. We have new flooring ordered and are trying to arrange a contractor for repair of the walls and trim, but they need funding soon to get the work started.
