Help for my Granddaughter

Donation protected
Last week our world was turned upside down and inside out. One of our Granddaughters was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia.

On Monday November 30 , our daughter  took our 8-year-old granddaughter, Brianna, to the Emergency room. She had been pale since Thursday and had unexplained bruising everywhere. They were quickly transferred to Mary Bridge Children's hosptal in Tacoma. Within 15 minutes of arrival They were speaking with an oncologist. They were told there was a 95% chance she had leukemia. They drew lots of blood and gave her a blood transfusion and platelets. On Tuesday, a bone marrow biopsy was done and the results came in on Wednesday.

On the bright side, OUR GRANDDAUGHTER DOES NOT HAVE CANCER! However, she does have aplastic anemia. This means that her body is not producing blood cells of any kind. She now needs a bone marrow donation and siblings are the best bet. They now have a long road ahead of them with many hospital visits and overnight stays. Brianna will also have to spend at a minimum 30 days at Seattle children's Hospital after the transplant.

This will be a very difficult time for her family and with many added expenses, not only in caring for her illness but also in lost wages.

We are trying to raise some funds to help offset these added expenses so they can focus on getting her heathy again instead of having to worry how they will finacially carry the family through this trying time.

We are hopeful that her sister will be a match for her. With that comes added concern for the health and well being of yet another of our Granddaughters.

This year for Christmas our only wish is for her to be healthy and happy again.

Brianna is a special little girl, she excels in school, is in the school choir and is her Mom's little helper. I find it hard to explain but I have often said she has an old soul.

Her parents both served in the Marines and during their service to our country were deployed to Kuwait and Iraq.

If you can find it in your heart to help us help them we would be very grateful.  If you can please share this post with others and send prayers we will be able to help ease their minds and hearts just a little bit.
