CB’s ISL Trip to Guatemala

Hi everyone!!
I’ve always wanted to help others in any way that I can, to put something positive into the world. Since I began at StFX in the Business program, with a minor in Sociology, I’ve learned a lot about the importance of sustainability, critical thinking, and providing real help, rather than temporary, colonialist assumptions and self-praise. With this in mind, I applied for the Immersion Service Learning program at StFX to travel somewhere, like Guatemala, learn about a new culture and its history, and provide sustainable assistance. Fortunately, I was accepted to this program and will be traveling to Guatemala in February to work with Fair Trade and Breaking the Silence in a post Mayan genocide community. I’ve created this GoFundMe page to 1) inform others of the importance and value of trips like this, and 2) to ask for your help! The trip will cost just under $3000 and I’m hoping to fundraise to help me cover this expense!
