Catherine Rendahl Funeral expenses

She was born as Mary Catherine Jones.  Since then she has had many names and titles.  She was  a daughter, a sister, a spouse, a mother, a Howard, a Rendahl, and a Hormachea.

She was a natural leader with a calm demeanor about her but would fiercly fight for what she thought was right.  She was elevated to leadership roles in most of the circles she invested her time in even when she did not really want to be. 

She made us better people by reminding us that being an adult often meant doing things that we did not want to do.  She would often say that it was fine for us to have strong opinions even if they did not align with hers but that if we were not able to articulate those opinions effectively and able to defend them from critisism then perhaps we should not feel so strongly about them.

She taught me that family is more than who donated the genetic material.  We had an interesting and adventuous life in my youth that some would say was rough due to our financial status but we learned the value of converation and company and leaned less of the valuation of the materialistic.  

 As I once said before "I am the son of my mother" .  She has impacted all of our lives for the better.  

We now need to close this chapter of her life.  She will be cremated and interned at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.  

Saddly, she and Don did not have much in the way of financial resources and the expenses involved seem a bit daunting at this time.  I am setting up this page to allow any of you that wish to to donate any amount that you choose to assist Don in paying the fees and carrying on.  

All donations will be used to first pay for the expenses of the funeral and then will be used for the reception.  Should there be any beyond that, I am happy for Don to use them as he sees fit.
