At Cotton Park, there are manmade trails that go into the trees off of the bike paths. Caitlyn used to love going to these trails to get some fresh air, to take a short adventure, walk by the dog park or to take a break from school. Cotton Park holds many memories with Cat and a few of us thought that it would be special to place a bench in her name along the bike trails.
After receiving permission to do this, we thought that it would be a great way to remember her here in Vermillion. The bench would be a really nice place for anyone to go and just sit back to take a breather. Being able to have a place of remembrance for Caitlyn in Vermillion would allow her loved ones, away from home, to find comfort in this bench and to bask in the memories and atmosphere of the park.
The parks and recreation team of Vermillion will be paying for any and all installation fees, as we just need to raise money for the bench itself along with engravings and shipping. Our first goal is to raise $900 for the bench at Cotton Park . I am meeting up with Parks & Rec next week to hopefully start the ordering process.
Please consider donating, a memorial for Cat is needed in Vermillion!
