As you all know, we had to shut down during the Covid-19 crisis, so we have no income stream, but do have ongoing expenses.
We want you to focus on the greatest need within your community but if you are looking for ways to help out a small business you love and that you wish to see re-open, you can:
1. Purchase a discounted entry (normally $10, so a donation of $5 or more will get you in when we re-open), or
2. Purchase an annual membership ($100 for individual; $150 for individual plus guest; $200 for family; $500 for a "friend of the cafe" membership) (if your donation is for one of these exact amounts, we will assume you want a membership and will hold it at the cafe for you).
It broke our hearts to send away our kitties, but now that they are gone, we are trying to be positive and use this opportunity to do some much-needed maintenance on our space. As you may know if you've been following our participation in the Dr. Elsey Makeover contest, our floors badly need refinishing. It's best to get this work done during a closure with no cats present, so now is the perfect time.
Our biggest ongoing expense is rent (we got a small break on it for April but we can't entirely skip April rent, obviously March rent is already paid in full, and there's no relief for May or beyond -- we checked). We also want to make sure our staff will be okay in case this gets prolonged past 2-4 weeks. Finally, if our rescue partners need our assistance, we want to be there for them.
We are so grateful for our community. We miss you so much already. And we really want to see our space fill up with cats and people again.
