Help Cassy beat Breast Cancer, again!

Donation protected
We are raising money for our close friend Cassy who was diagnosed with Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in December 2012.

She is a 28 year old working single mother who is battling Breast Cancer for a second time. After her diagnosis in December 2012, she received two chemotherapy treatments, followed by a double mastectomy and reconstruction, and finishing the last four of the remaining six chemotherapy treatments. She was given the amazing news in April 2013 that she was CANCER FREE!!!

January 2014 was supposed to bring health and happiness along with a fresh start and in turn, it brought exactly the opposite. Cassy found another lump in the exact same spot as the original large tumor. Surgery was completed to remove the tumor; which thankfully had negative margins (meaning the margins of the tumor were clear of any cancer) and her PET scans were negative, as were the lymph nodes. Unfortunately though, this tumor was found to be a more aggressive type than the original tumor and the doctors want to go a step further to do everything in their power to be sure that this is the final final time Cassy and Bryce have to go through this.

February 2014 brought the start of 34 straight days of radiation which is a 50 mile drive (100 round trip) away from home. Following the 34 days of radiation, she will have another six months of chemotherapy treatment.

The first time she went through all of this at 27 years old, she had just graduated from college, was enjoying life with her (then) four year old, working full-time and everything was falling into place. After the diagnosis, she was determined to keep some normalcy in her life for not only her sake, but for that vibrant little boy that calls her mom. She always made sure there was a roof over their head and food on the table and she worked through chemotherapy at any given (and able) opportunity.

Cassy is a dedicated mom, incredibly hard worker and always willing give the shirt off her back to anyone. As her friends (and family), we decided it's time for us to help her! She has been very determined to not ask for help throughout all of this, but we've decided enough is enough and we need her to be able to focus all of her energy on herself and getting healthy and spending any free, quality time that she has while going through treatment to be able to be spent with her five year old son, Bryce and not stressing about how she's going to pay her bills and keep a roof over her head, or how she's going to put gas in her tank to get to treatments. So, with chemo approaching again; we want to do it differently this time so she doesn't have to work as much through chemo and so she can focus on her health. We want her to work only when she truly feels up to it, and if she needs to be home and rest after treatment, she can do that without the fear of wondering where the next dollar is going to come from.

Our goal is for all of us to come together as one with the hope of being able to help with her with medical bills, cost of gas, groceries, rent, utilities and everyday bills for her and her five year old son. Every little bit helps and every single dollar makes a difference in their life. It would mean the world to us (her friends and family) if you would help take a little of that unnecessary stress off her shoulders.

If I could put into words how thankful we are for all of you that are considering and/or willing and able to donate, I would. You have no idea! Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!!
