In its second year, the Chamber Artists of Southeast Michigan are ecstatic to once again be offering a summer study scholarship to downriver area high school students! The competition will be held in May of 2020.
The CASM Artists believe that studying music is an integral part of any community, and it encourages students to learn critical life skills such as discipline, problem solving, teamwork, and how to constantly strive for the highest quality of performance in life without shortcuts.
We plan to offer two general scholarships this year totaling $500, and an additional scholarship of $250 specifically designated for underrepresented minorities in the classical music field. The winners will be selected through teacher recommendation and an essay with this years topic being: How do you believe that music classes may be preparing you for college even if you do not plan to study music specifically beyond high school?
Any amount you would consider giving will go a long way towards helping us to enrich and invigorate our community through its young people.
