Casey's Tanzania Nursing Internship

Ever since I was a little girl it has been my dream to travel abroad and help those that cannot help themselves.  Growing up, I watched as my parents save lives everyday, whether it be resuscitating someone suffering a cardiac arrest in church, holding someone's airway open as they had a seizure in an isle at Wal-Mart, or even just putting a sling on a teenage boys arm after he dislocated it in a football game. I've watched them do it all. I think the greatest part of it was seeing complete strangers coming up to them on the street or in a store and shaking their hand saying "thank you" for saving their loved ones life a few years ago. It always amazed me to see how much people appreciated the work my parents did, even though they were only doing their jobs. Seeing these things happen everyday really made me look up to my parents and want to follow in their footsteps, which is why I decided to pursue a career in nursing.
This summer, I was given the opportunity of a life time to follow my dreams. I will finally be traveling abroad to help those that cannot help themselves. I will be journeying to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Africa for 5 weeks for a nursing internship. While on this internship I will be spending 4 weeks in the local hospital working as a nurse, providing care to those in need. On the fifth week of my trip, I will be traveling to a village providing care to those that may not be able to travel the many miles to the nearest hospital or clinic.
I am very excited to be given this wonderful opportunity, however, this trip is very costly. It is an unpaid internship and I am volunteering my time and money to make this trip possible. This is why I created this GoFundMe page to ask for your help. Whether it be $5 or $20 every little bit counts and is a major help, this trip would not be possible without the love and support from my friends and family. Even if you cannot donate, your thoughts and prayers as I take my journey overseas would be greatly appreciated.
